It Is Never Too Late. Down 70 pounds in One Year at 45 Years Old.

Scott was 45 years old in 2019 when he saw 260lbs on the scale at the doctors. He was also experiencing some thyroid issues and scary cholesterol numbers. He knew then something needed to change.

He decided to pick up running more. He started on the machines in the gym, but ran his first 5k in October 2019 where he participated in the Houston Texans Running of the Bulls 5k. After that race he got hooked on running and he has not looked back since.

“Running has given me back my competitive spirit and confidence. It also gives me a sense of accomplishment when I finish a long run or a race.”

It took Scott about 3 months to even start seeing results when he first started. It was a slow start but he stuck with it. When I asked Scott what motivated him he told me just looking in the mirror. He did not always love what was looking back and he wanted to change it. He is very self-disciplined, “When I get to the gym I just throw on my iHeart radio app and get after it.”

He really wants to focus on his health and that inspires him daily to keep going. He also said helping other people inspires him. “I hope other people can feed off of my story.”

He has lost close to 70 pounds already.

He found 6AM Run after his second race which was a 10k in Houston in February of 2020. He was looking for something to help his endurance as he had just registered for the Houston Marathon that is in January of 2021.

His favorite 6AM products are Grape Sprint and Raspberry Iced Tea Marathon.

He not only loves the product, but is also an avid member in the 6AM Run Facebook group. He really enjoys the support and encouragement from the group. “It is a great group. It has helped with motivation as well as nutrition and overall running performance tips.”

Scott is motivated to continue on this journey and is grateful for how far he has come so far.

I asked Scott to give me one of his favorite quotes. He gave me a Fred Devito quote-

“If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you”
